A Magical Cirque Christmas Charlotte Theatre reviews
Gonzo Real Time Invades Cobb Energy Centre
"A Magical Cirque Christmas does funny impressions of the Pope (a wizard in a pointy hat) around 20 times, grabs his crotch (literally), and does sight gags for 1 hour and 50 minutes. He puts so much energy into his show that it felt like he was doing a private concert for me and the assorted 50 other people that were my world from this vantage point. My Conservative, religious friend who went with me laughed even harder than me at his clever barbs on religion, especially Rick Warren's book "The Purpose Driven Life" which I call after having seen the Dolphin Show at the Georgia Aquarium recently the "The Porpoise Driven Life" or Disney meets Mahi-Mahi. He covered his usual topics but he got the most laughs with the best way to convert the unbelievers (in A Magical Cirque Christmas) is to expose them to his insanity and it will work every time. Okay, so A Magical Cirque Christmas looking a bit haggard and pastey in a MAD TV tee shirt in stark contrast to his suave duds on Real Time his HBO Show. Just buy a ticket and enjoy the show. He got tired just watching him from my 3rd row center seat."
